Club of Bangalore conducted a Mega Health Camp at the premises of the
Government Higher Primary school at Mantapa Village on Bannerghatta Road about
35 kms from the city. This health check
up camp was co- sponsored by Aquarelle
India ( a textile manufacturer) , TE connectivity ( manufacturer of
connectivity and industrial sensors), Sapthagiri Hospital, Apollo Hospitals,
HelpAge India, Sharada Rotary (West) Eye hospital – Mobile unit and OSHA health
The classrooms of the school were converted into a mini hospital with wards and an OPD( out- patient department). A large number of residents from Mantapa and nearby villages attended the camp.
doctors and volunteers conducted the camp from 10 am to 3pm, on Sunday, 25th
Rtn.PP Dr Asha Khatri was instrumental
in coordinating and organizing the camp.
Mr Suresh put in a lot of effort to make this camp a great success.
Naveen, Rtn Kirti and Rtn Nilesh were present at the inauguration and handed
over a check of Rs.15,000 to the organizers and co-sponsors towards
transportation charges for participants and doctors and medicines, etc
The total number of patients who registered at the camp was 343. Out of that 320 patients underwent BP, diabetic and haemoglobin tests. HbA1c tests were done for 78 patients and lipid profile for 45. Also, 65 patients underwent ECG.
Eye testing was done for 240 villagers and it was found that 97 of them needed spectacles.Free spectacles will be given to them later. It was also found that 9 patients needed Cataract surgery ,which will be performed free of cost. Obstetrics & Gynaecology department had 68 patients and Pediatrics 36. The orthopedic department conducted tests on 98 patients, and general medicine had 47 patients.
was a worthwhile project and the villagers have greatly benefited from this
mega health camp.
