On 30th March, Saturday morning, President Rtn. Vivek Prabhu set out with First Lady Ann. Shalini Prabhu and Rtn. M C Dinesh, Chairman Education and Literacy Committee, to inaugurate the next four Happy Anganwadis – numbers 21 to 24 of this year. Assistant Governor for our Club Rtn. K. H. Ashok joined in for the occasion.
The destination this time was Laxmi Pura Colony in Peenya where two childcare centers with 22 and 16 children respectively were converted into lovely Happy Anganwadis. Many grateful thanks to the sponsors – M/s. Kirloskar’s who supported the project. The tiny tots and the Anganwadi staff will benefit from such improved atmosphere and facilities.
Not far away in Peenya – in Binnamangala and in Bhaktanapalya – two more Anganwadis were inaugurated. One of these was sponsored by a generous Rotarian donor, who wants to remain anonymous but can be really proud to have brought smiles to the 41 little children who had come well dressed for the special occasion. The other is from the RCB funds raised due to the fundraiser play “Salaam Noni Papa.”
In all the places the team of Rotarians was greeted with great warmth by the teachers, staff, and parents. As a reminder, a Happy Anganwadi ensures they have clean toilets, play equipment, a clean kitchen, clean drinking water with RO plant, chairs, sleeping mats, vitrified tile flooring, and child-friendly freshly painted interiors, and exteriors.
All these four Anganwadis were brought up to this level of upgradation by our very reliable contractor Kanth Raju. As always, a huge thanks and appreciation is due to our ever smiling and efficient leader of the Team Anganwadi – Magic Manjunath!
